Authentic as it gets. Best kept secret in Carlsbad. Family owned and the nicest people ever. They have seen my kids grow and when we havent been in awhile, they always make sure our family is well. We have had many of the dishes and everything has been superb! If you're looking for great service and the best Chinese, don't go anywhere else.

Great food at a great price

Traditional. Shrimp big plump and full of flavor. Fresh veggies for great taste in many dishes. Vintage 1980 decor. Big booths. Great value and fast service

I'm totally enjoying getting to know my new home communities. And Overseas Reataurant represented well! When r waiter came to give us r bill he laid it on the table and while bowing wished us good fortune. Great food, awesome company = Fortunes a plenty! TY O.R. I appreciate!!

This is the second time I come here for lunch. I love the food at this place. Honestly I don't know why this place isn't crowded for lunch. The prices are great. You pay the same price here than you would at a fast food drive thru and the food is good.

A very long time customer....30 years plus. It's always been good. Great lunch specials. A tradition during Holiday season. Try the tangerine beef. Highly recommend.

Very good and attentive service! Server was very knowledgeable with the menu and was recommending plates! Ordered cream cheese wontons, and egg rolls! They were incredibly delicious, texture and very flavorful! The main entree were chicken low main, Hong Kong Stine noodles, cashew chicken, Kung Pao chicken with shrimp. Again very flavorful and the portions are big. Highly recommend if you want authentic Chinese Cuisine!

My family loves this place. I find it just OK. They do a good job on the Hong Kong style chow mein noodles...crispy without beimg too hard. However, until someone from our party who is a regular at the place finally arrived, they weren't that friendly to us. Also, the food is a bit oversauced.

Great Chinese restaurant ! Food was awesome, the honey shrimp was delicious. Service was outstanding the waiter checked on us every few minutes. Great atmosphere and it was like old fashioned service. Prices were reasonable and good daily specials. Looking forward to the next visit. Parking can be tight during peak hours though.

Great local Chinese spot with decent food, consistently friendly service and competitive pricing. Entrees are 13 to 25ish bucks . I like the freshness of the veggies. Yummy shrimp and not too salty sauces. We go here regularly and recommend it to visitors. Typical decor cute for a date night next to some other fun bars. I hope it stays here forever!

Very large portions and freshly cooked.

I absolutely love many of the dishes served here. My favorite is the Curry Chicken. It's viciously hot <3 I typically get it for takeout and spread it across an additional 3 cups of cooked white rice, and make several meals of it. The additional white rice helps to dilute the heat.Several of the other dishes are also excellent. Some dishes may be slightly less "Americanized" than you'll find elsewhere, but they still give fortune cookies instead of fruit at the end of the meal.This is my current favorite local Chinese restaurant.

Wor wonton soup

We've been here a few times before and enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately, this time the sauce on the Mongolian beef was burned. They graciously replaced it with a much better tasting Broccoli beef dish. We will definitely return.

Tried this place because of the reviews and service has been very good. The food has also been very good. I no longer miss Chins that closed their Carlsbad location.

I've been coming here for 25 years and love love love the food and the family that owns The Overseas Restaurant...when my dad was alive he took me to lunch here every week and still to this day the owner remembers my dad...I feel like family here....

My grandparents would always go here. The owners are like family.

Great Chow Fun (wide rice noodles) and pretty good Hot & Sour Soup. Lots of other choices. Lunch & Early Bird Specials. Friendly staff. Convenient parking.

Food was to burnt. Waitress was nice. Fried Chicken was good. Fair price for lunch.

Great lunch been going for 20 years

Hands down best Chinese food in North County/San Diego. I’ve been eating here for 20 years. Yes, you read correctly. 20 years, after moving to Carlsbad from OC and basking in Little Saigon restaurants I didn’t think I could anything that could compare to oriental dining. Family owned, everything on this menu is amazing. Peggy and her entire staff, amazing customer service and the chefs so so talented. This is AUTHENTIC oriental cooking - you will not be disappointed... just maybe very very full after how much you’ll eat!

Great food good service and great Mom and Pop diner

One of the best Chinese restaurants we have eaten at in a long time. The family that runs the restaurant were so friendly and came to the table to visit with each customer. Very old school! The egg rolls were so yummy, and the cabbage was so fresh and abundant! The main dishes were so flavorful, and not at all salty or lacking in flavor! If I lived in Carlsbad I would eat her at least twice a week!!

Service is standard Chinese restaurant service, food was okay

In my opinion this is the best sit down Chinese food in North County. A ton of different dishes to be had and I have about a dozen favorites so it's always hard to pick which one to have. It's about a once a week stop for me.

Love Overseas Restaurant! Good old time Chinese food. Staff is always friendly and food is delicious.
